CCPS RFP # 24-15: North East Middle/High School Replacement Project

Background
The Cecil County Public Schools (CCPS) is seeking sealed bids for the North East Middle/High School Replacement Project. The project involves the construction of two new schools, co-locating the existing North East Middle and High Schools into one building located on land adjacent to the existing high school property. The new school will be constructed on the western portion of the site, south of Irishtown Road. The existing high school will remain operational during construction, and the stadium will be renovated and incorporated into the new school.
Following completion of the new building, the existing building will be demolished and remaining sitework will be completed.

Work Details
The project includes various prime bid packages such as concrete, masonry, steel, general trades, millwork & casework, roofing, metal panels, glass & glazing, flooring, food service, gymnasium equipment, fixed seating, sprinkler system, mechanical/plumbing, geothermal well, electrical work, sitework, asphalt & site concrete, and landscaping.
The new building is designed to meet USGBC LEED v4 Building Design and Construction Silver certification requirements and current building codes.
The contractor must attempt to achieve specific Prime Bid Package MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) goals established for this project.

Period of Performance
The due date for sealed bids is Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM (ET) local time.
The construction project is subject to prevailing wage rates per 00 45 28 Prevailing Wage Section.

Place of Performance
The construction project will take place at North East Middle School located at 200 E Cecil Ave and North East High School located at 300 Irishtown Rd in North East, MD.
