Description

The Comptroller of MD (COM) requires installation and testing of fiber optic and ethernet cabling throughout the 3 buildings of the Annapolis campus. All access-switch fiber interconnects will lead back to a single distribution switch located in their respective buildings. All distribution-swi667tch fiber interconnects will lead back to the data center located on the 3rd floor of the Annapolis Datacenter building (ADC). COM also requires Cat6 ethernet cabling to increase Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the Annapolis campus. All ethernet cabling will lead back to the access closet/cabinet on their respective floors.
Background
The Comptroller of Maryland (COM) is seeking to enhance its network infrastructure across the Annapolis campus, which consists of three buildings: the Annapolis Data Center building (ADC), the Revenue Administration Building (RAD), and the Louis L. Goldstein building (LLG).

The goal of this contract is to install and test fiber optic and Cat6 ethernet cabling to improve communication, collaboration, and productivity for its workforce. Additionally, it aims to enhance Wi-Fi connectivity for employees and the public. The existing fiber backbone will be upgraded to meet industry standards, allowing for increased bandwidth and improved network performance.

Work Details
The contractor will provide the purchase, installation, testing, and warranty of new fiber optic cabling throughout the Annapolis campus. Fiber optic cables will be terminated with LC connectors housed in rack mount LIUs with LC inserts.

Installation will occur above ceilings using J hooks and tie wraps, utilizing existing core holes and conduit pathways. Surface mount raceways will be provided where necessary. Cat6 ethernet cabling will also be installed, terminated with RJ-45 surface mounts leading back to network closets on each floor. Patch cables will be included for both ends of each ethernet run.

The contractor must ensure that all components, wiring, hardware, labor for installation, and testing are provided to create a fully functional system. Specific quantities include:
- Fiber optic cabling: Single and multimode 24 strands in various locations across ADC, RAD, and LLG buildings.
- Cat6 ethernet cabling: Installed in specified rooms with detailed footage listed in attachments.

Period of Performance
Work is scheduled to start on December 12, 2024, and end on January 30, 2025. All installations must be completed by December 30, 2024.

The contract work will take place at the Annapolis campus located at three addresses:
- 80 Calvert St., Annapolis, MD 21401
- 108 Carroll Street, Annapolis, MD 21401
- 110 Carroll St., Annapolis, MD 21401.
