AA1785179 - MD 173 (Fort Smallwood Road) Duvall Highway to Kenton Road Sidewalk Improvements

Background
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is issuing this solicitation for a construction project located in Anne Arundel County.

The project aims to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility along MD 173 (Fort Smallwood Road) by constructing new sidewalks, making ADA improvements, and upgrading traffic signals at select intersections. Work Details
The work will consist of the following:

(a) Installing new sidewalk to provide continuous connection along northbound MD 173;
(b) Upgrading existing sidewalk ramps and driveways to meet ADA compliance;
(c) Traffic signal upgrades at select intersections;
(d) Signing and marking upgrades;
(e) Stormwater Management and Erosion and Sediment Control;
(f) Drainage improvements, pipe and inlet cleaning;
(g) Landscape design;
(h) Relocation of a portion of Anne Arundel County Water transmission line.

Period of Performance
The bid letting for this project is scheduled for April 17, 2025. The specific period of performance will be determined upon award.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, specifically along MD 173 from the intersection of Duvall Highway to Kenton Road.

Bidder Requirements

Bids must be submitted electronically; no paper bids will be accepted. For contracts exceeding $100,000, a Bid Security equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount bid is required. Successful bidders must also provide Payment and Performance Bonds for contracts over $100,000.
