Wound Management Services

Background
The Massachusetts Veterans Home at Holyoke (VHH), established in 1952, is a long-term healthcare facility for eligible veterans in Massachusetts. The current facility has 128 beds and is being replaced by a new 234-bed facility that will also provide adult day health services for an additional 50 veterans. The new facility is expected to be ready for occupancy by fall/winter 2026.

VHH's mission is to deliver high-quality personal healthcare services to veterans with dignity, honor, and respect. To support this mission, VHH seeks licensed and experienced bidders to provide Wound Management Services to its residents.

Work Details
The awarded bidder will be responsible for providing wound management services, which include: supplying their own equipment; treating various types of wounds (vascular, surgical, traumatic, venous, diabetic, and pressure wounds); performing patient consultations and follow-up care including wound debridement, incision and drainage, and skin biopsy; developing and executing care plans in collaboration with facility staff; participating in quality assurance programs; adhering to the formulary model of the facility; providing visits within 48 hours for emergent care requests; utilizing telehealth options when access to the facility is unavailable; maintaining all necessary licenses and compliance with local, state, or federal laws; meeting infection prevention requirements; and providing a detailed rate sheet for services.

Period of Performance
The initial contract duration is 2 years with options to renew for up to 4 additional one-year periods, totaling a maximum contract duration of 6 years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Massachusetts Veterans Home located at 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed professionals such as Nurse Practitioners, Physician’s Assistants or Medical Doctors with experience in long-term care settings. They must maintain insurance coverage of $1 million per incident and $3 million aggregate. Bidders are encouraged to participate in the Massachusetts Small Business Purchasing Program (SBPP) if eligible.
