Westborough District Court Front Driveway Resurfacing Project

Background
The Westborough District Court, part of the Massachusetts Trial Court system, is undertaking a project to repave the front driveway at the Westborough District Courthouse located at 186 Oak St., Westborough, MA 01581. The goal of this project is to enhance accessibility and ensure compliance with ADA requirements by replacing existing sidewalks and improving drainage.

Work Details
The contractor will provide labor, materials, permits, and disposal fees to complete the following tasks:

1. Mill and remove 2 inches of material from the existing top course of the driveway area and replace it with an equal or greater amount in settled areas.
2. Re-grade for water control to ensure proper drainage.
3. Restore line striping and pavement markings consistent with existing conditions, including a hatched pattern for handicap loading areas.
4. Protect existing appurtenances such as catch basins and manhole covers during construction.
5. Provide site supervision during active work periods.
6. Comply with prevailing wage rates as specified in the attached documents.
7. Secure any necessary permits for project completion.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to be performed during off-hours to avoid disrupting courthouse operations, potentially starting Friday evenings through weekends or state holidays.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide proof of liability insurance naming the Commonwealth of Massachusetts / Massachusetts Trial Court as an additional insured. A 50% payment bond is required for contracts exceeding $25,000, along with a bid deposit of 5% of the total bid value.
