RFP:43-25 AC traction motor for Test bench

Background
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to supply up to two AC Traction Motor Bench Test Equipment units. These units will support post-overhaul testing of AC traction motors from manufacturers including Siemens, MELCO, Bombardier, and the upcoming CAF fleet. The goal of this contract is to ensure safety, reliability, and performance across the MBTA's transit vehicles.

Work Details
The contractor will provide up to two AC Traction Motor Bench Test Equipment units designed for post-overhaul testing of AC traction motors. The equipment must meet safety and performance standards suitable for use with various transit vehicle manufacturers. Specific requirements for the equipment include ensuring reliability and compliance with MBTA operational standards.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will be defined in the final agreement but is expected to cover the duration necessary for the delivery and installation of the test equipment along with any required training or support services.

Place of Performance
The contract work will primarily take place at MBTA facilities in Massachusetts where the test equipment will be utilized for motor testing.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must maintain specific insurance coverage throughout the term of the contract, including:
- Commercial General Liability Insurance with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence;
- Automobile Liability Insurance with similar limits;
- Workers' Compensation Insurance as per Massachusetts General Laws.
All insurance must be placed with companies licensed in Massachusetts and have a Best's rating of A- or better. Certificates of insurance must be provided to MBTA naming them as additional insured.
