RFP 25-01 Web Redesign & Development

Background
Holyoke Community College (HCC), a state agency in Massachusetts, is seeking to create a new website experience through a comprehensive redesign of its current website. The goal of this project is to implement a flexible content management system (CMS) that enhances the college's web development efforts and improves user experience.

The selected vendor will provide design, templating solutions, and ongoing support for the new system, as well as assist in implementing a managed hosting environment for the redesigned website.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
1. Comprehensive redesign of HCC's existing website to enhance usability and accessibility.
2. Implementation of a flexible CMS, preferably WordPress or an equivalent, that allows easy content editing by non-technical staff.
3. Development of a standardized format and graphical look across all pages to establish a unified theme.
4. Creation of templates for both home and interior pages, including CSS styles for various elements.
5. Integration of multimedia assets such as video and audio files into the CMS.
6. Ensuring compliance with HTML standards and Section 508/WAI Accessibility guidelines.
7. Providing ongoing technical support and training for HCC staff on the new system.

Period of Performance
The RFP was issued on December 23, 2024, with proposals due by January 28, 2025. The anticipated proposal award date is March 17, 2025, with project completion expected within five years from the start date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Holyoke Community College located at 303 Homestead Ave, Holyoke, MA.
