Request for Qualification for Trade Contractor Packages

Background
The Middleborough Gas & Electric Department (MGED) is seeking qualified and experienced Trade Contractors for a construction project involving the partial demolition, renovation, and addition to the existing electrical operations building. The goal of this contract is to enhance the facility while preserving its historical features, specifically the brick façade. The project is estimated to cost approximately $18,200,000 and will be executed under Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Laws.

- Resilient Flooring (ECC $73,100)
- Painting (ECC $83,300)
- Elevators (ECC $198,000)
- Fire Protection (ECC $227,100)

- Heating, Ventilation & Air-Conditioning (ECC $811,400)
- Electrical (ECC $1,293,600).

The scope of work involves constructing new offices, meeting rooms, a kitchen, lockers, material stockrooms, and vertical transportation between existing and new buildings. Additionally, site work will include new driveways, sidewalks, landscaping, and security fencing. Early packages will initiate site work including demolition and structural steel ahead of architectural and mechanical installations.

Period of Performance
Work on site is scheduled to begin in May 2025 with an estimated construction duration of approximately 18 months.

The contract will be performed at the Middleborough Gas & Electric Department's facility located at 32 S Main Street, Middleborough, MA 02346.
