New Barnstable Fire Station

Background
The Barnstable Fire District is seeking qualifications from trade contractors for the construction of a new fire station located at 1841 Phinney’s Lane, Barnstable, MA. This project aims to replace the existing structures and provide a facility that includes fire apparatus bays, administrative offices, training spaces, and residential quarters for firefighters. The project will be executed under a Construction Manager at Risk delivery method with a guaranteed maximum price as per Massachusetts General Laws.

Work Details
The contract involves various trades including:
- Masonry
- Miscellaneous and Ornamental Iron
- Waterproofing, Damp proofing and Caulking
- Roofing and Flashing
- Glass and Glazing
- Tiling
- Acoustical Tile
- Resilient Flooring
- Painting
- Elevators
- Fire Protection Systems
- Plumbing
- Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC)
- Electrical work. Each trade contractor must demonstrate their ability to obtain bonding for 110% of the estimated trade contract value.

Period of Performance
The estimated total project duration is 24 months, with an anticipated Notice to Proceed on July 1, 2025. Total project completion is expected by Summer 2027.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the new fire station site located at 1841 Phinney’s Lane, Barnstable MA 02630.

Bidder Requirements
Interested trade contractors must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) that includes a commitment letter for bonding and a currently valid DCAMM Sub-bidder Certificate of Eligibility for each trade category they are applying for. Additionally, a completed Sub-bidder Update Statement is required. Firms must also provide evidence of their experience in similar projects and meet specific safety and compliance standards.
