Nesmith House Landscaping Services

Background
Middlesex Community College (MCC) is seeking qualified landscapers to provide landscaping services for the Nesmith House located at 229 Andover St, Lowell, MA 01852. The goal of this contract is to maintain the aesthetic and functional aspects of the landscaping through various seasonal services.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

- **Spring Clean-up:** Dethatch lawn, blow off lawn to remove thatch and sticks, clean and rake existing mulch beds, string trim all edges, edge existing mulch beds, add black mulch to existing mulch beds, clean along the backside of the wall at the rear of the building, remove dead shrubs and replace as needed.

- **Weekly Mowing:** Mow lawn, string trim all edges, blow off hard surfaces to keep entries clear of debris, maintain rock border along the driveway, remove dead tree limbs as needed.

- **Monthly Mulch Bed Maintenance:** Remove weeds in existing mulch beds, rake and scratch mulch to keep a fresh appearance, edge mulch beds, prune bushes and small specimen trees, maintain perennials by thinning and pruning as necessary.

- **Provide and Plant Flowers:** Provide and plant flowers and greens in urns each season throughout the landscape area (spring, summer, fall, winter).

- **Fall Clean-up:** Cut and dispose of all perennials, blow entire property and dispose of leaves, clean and rake existing mulch beds, edge existing mulch beds, prune all flowering plants to remove dead flowers.

- **Aerate/Overseed:** Perform aeration and overseeding as required.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract is for eight (8) months starting on or around April 1, 2025 and terminating on November 30, 2025. There is an option to renew for up to two additional eight (8) month periods in one-year increments at the discretion of the College.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Nesmith House located at 229 Andover St, Lowell, MA 01852.
