MUN-2025-1002 Water Main Replacement Project - Broadway (Route 107)

Background
The City of Revere, Massachusetts is issuing a bid for the Water Main Replacement Project on Broadway (Route 107) as part of their ongoing infrastructure improvements. The goal of this project is to replace outdated water mains to ensure reliable water service and meet the requirements set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).

Work Details
The project involves the removal and replacement, as well as new installation, of approximately 2,900 feet of 12-inch ductile iron (DI) water main, 2,600 feet of 8-inch water main, and 600 feet of 6-inch DI pipe. This includes the installation of valves, hydrants, fittings, and copper services to each property.

Temporary water mains will be installed above ground during construction. Excavation will be required to remove existing water mains and install new ones. After installation, excavated areas will be backfilled and paved within existing road surfaces or loamed and seeded in shoulder areas. The work also includes temporary and permanent trench paving while adhering to all MassDOT requirements.

Period of Performance
The contract time for substantial completion of all pipe work is 180 calendar days from the effective date of the Agreement. Final paving and restoration work must be completed within 350 calendar days. No permanent paving work is allowed between November 15, 2025, and April 15, 2026 without prior authorization.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed in Revere, Massachusetts along Broadway (Route 107).

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must be prequalified by the Highway Division of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in the specified class of work with a single contract class limit greater than or equal to the project's estimated value of $5,061,570.00. A bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check amounting to five percent (5%) of the total bid is required. Successful bidders must also furnish a 100 percent Construction Performance Bond and a 100 percent Construction Payment Bond.
