LPS SPED In-District Student Van Transportation Services IFB

Background
Lexington Public Schools is seeking bids for Special Education In-District Student Van Transportation Services. This contract aims to provide scheduled transportation for designated school children enrolled in their district, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for students with special needs across the 10 school buildings within the district.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary services related to student transportation, including but not limited to: transportation equipment, maintenance of equipment, operation, supervision, inspection, registration, licensing, and insurance. The contractor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Services will include emergency transportation as needed due to student illness or suspension. Additionally, the contractor must provide documentation verifying that they have been operating as a 7D Transportation Vendor for at least 2 years and maintain a backup plan for vehicle or driver issues. All drivers and monitors must pass CORI checks and fingerprinting before transporting students.

Period of Performance
The contract term will be from August 26, 2025, to August 25, 2026, with options for two additional one-year extensions.

Place of Performance
Transportation services will be performed within the Lexington Public Schools district in Massachusetts, covering ten school buildings.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate competency in providing the specified services and must not have defaulted on any contracts in the last three years. They must be registered to do business in Massachusetts and hold all necessary permits and licenses. Bidders are required to provide at least three references from schools where similar services were provided in the past three years. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for May 6, 2025, which all interested bidders must attend.
