ITT72-Fiber Internet Service for two Somerville Housing Authority properties

Background
The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), on behalf of the Somerville Housing Authority, is seeking quotes from qualified Massachusetts State Contract ITT72 Category 6 Vendors to serve as the internet service provider for a public Wi-Fi network at Weston and Properzi Manor, both of which are owned properties located in Somerville, Massachusetts.

This initiative is part of a grant program aimed at expanding internet access and reducing the Digital Divide, particularly benefiting low-income residents.

Work Details
The selected vendor will provide a 1 Gigabit/ps symmetrical fiber optic connection with managed Internet Service and support to Properzi Manor and Weston Manor Apartments.

The solution must ensure 99.9% uptime for service. Vendors are also requested to provide pricing for higher bandwidth options (2Gbps, 3Gbps, and 5Gbps). Installation services must be itemized and should not exceed $50,000 in total value over the contract's life. Each demarcation point will require a static block of 5 IP addresses.

Specific locations for demarcation points include:
- Properzi Manor: Top floor elevator maintenance room.
- Weston Manor: Basement storage room adjacent to existing external fiber run.

Period of Performance
The contract will initially be for one year with options to renew for two additional years at the discretion of the Housing Authority.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at Weston Manor (15 Weston Avenue, Somerville, MA 02144) and Properzi Manor (13 Warren Ave, Somerville, MA 02143).

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must hold certifications as small or minority businesses or as veteran’s or women's business enterprises. They are encouraged to subcontract with certified vendors if they do not qualify themselves.

The vendor must maintain insurance throughout the contract term and provide certificates of insurance upon request. Compliance with Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Law is required for any construction-related work.
