Background
The Town of Needham, located in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) to acquire an Open Top 100-Yard Trailer.
The Town provides a full range of governmental services and aims to enhance its solid waste operations with this equipment.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, ensuring compliance with Massachusetts General Laws.

Work Details
The contract involves providing a new and unused Open Top 100-Yard Trailer that meets the following specifications:
- Color: Silver
- Trailer Length: Minimum 45’ Inside – Maximum 45’ 3” Outside
- Trailer Width: 96” Inside – 102” Outside
- Trailer Height: 102” Inside
- Fifth Wheel Height: 50”
- Tires: Eight (8) Tubeless Goodyear 11R24.5 G289 16 ply tires or equivalent, with one spare tire mounted on a rim.
- Body Construction: Minimum of 12 gauge hi-tensile steel with a minimum yield strength of 50,000 pounds.
The trailer must be certified as an 80,000 lbs. G.V.W.R. trailer and suitable for a Massachusetts Reducible Load Permit of 99,000 lbs.
Delivery is required at the Recycling Transfer Station located at 1421 Central Avenue, Needham, MA, with no additional shipping costs beyond unit pricing.

Period of Performance
The contract term will commence upon execution and end on December 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The equipment will be delivered to the Recycling Transfer Station of the Department of Public Works at 1421 Central Avenue, Needham, MA.
