25-44-DPS Maintenance and Mowing of the Community Life Center

Background
The City of Salem is seeking bids for the maintenance and mowing of the Community Life Center (CLC) located at 401 Bridge Street, Salem, Massachusetts. The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive landscaping maintenance services to ensure the upkeep and aesthetic quality of the facility's grounds. The contract will be awarded to a qualified contractor who can meet the specified requirements and perform the necessary services effectively.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, and supplies necessary for landscaping maintenance services at the CLC. Key tasks include:

1. **Spring Cleanup**: Initial cleanup by April 14, 2025, including removal of trash and litter, sweeping curb lines, and raking lawn areas.

2. **Fall Cleanup**: To be completed between November 15 and December 1, 2025, involving cleanup of fallen leaves and branches.

3. **Regular Maintenance**: Weekly mowing from April 19 to November 3, 2025, including debris removal prior to mowing, sweeping sidewalks and parking spaces, trimming weeds from curbing, and loaming/seeding damaged lawn areas.

4. **Fertilizer Application**: Every six weeks following Spring Cleanup with a five-step weed control program.

5. **Trimming and Pruning**: To be completed between July 1 and July 14, 2025.

6. **Mulching**: Cleaning out planting beds after Spring Cleanup with specified type and color determined by the City.

7. **Overseeding**: To be performed between September 1 and October 1, 2025.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on or around April 1, 2025, and terminate on December 31, 2025. There is an option to renew for two additional seasons in one-year increments through December 31, 2027.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Community Life Center located at 401 Bridge Street, Salem, Massachusetts.
