RFP-24-014 - Occupational Technology Building Renovation - Phase II

Background
The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is seeking professional design services for the Phase II renovation of the Occupational Technology Building (OTB) at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC). This project is part of a multi-phased initiative aimed at enhancing educational facilities to better serve the community's workforce development needs. The total budget for this phase is $44,000,000, with an estimated $35,000,000 allocated for construction. The project has been appropriated by the Kentucky General Assembly.

Work Details
The scope of work includes architectural services and coordination with a design team comprising mechanical, electrical, structural engineers, civil engineers, and landscape architects. The renovation will focus on the 200 and 300 sections of the existing building and may include new programming areas such as:

1. Workforce Solutions Admin Suite
2. Central KY Workforce Institute with classrooms and labs for PLC, Robotics, Electrical training, CDL training, and general computer labs.
3. Facilities & Finance Admin Offices
4. Auto/Diesel Tech Labs/Classrooms/Office space with a drive-thru bay expansion.
5. HVAC Lab/Classroom/Office space.
6. Residential/Commercial Trade Construction Certification Classrooms.
7. Industry Training & Community Engagement Center.

The design team will also be responsible for ensuring flexibility in the facility to adapt to changing educational needs over time.

Period of Performance
The design work for Phase II is expected to commence immediately upon selection of the contractor. A tentative project schedule includes programming lasting 30 days followed by multiple phases of construction over approximately 120 days each.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College located at 100 College Drive, Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
