RFB-15-25 KCTCS HVAC Upgrade Hazard CTC

Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky is issuing this solicitation for HVAC upgrades at Hazard Community & Technical College, part of the Kentucky Community & Technical College System.
The goal of this contract is to replace and upgrade HVAC systems and equipment across various buildings to improve energy efficiency and functionality.

Work Details
The project involves the following specific tasks:
1. Walter Prater Building: Conversion from a water loop heat pump system to self-contained AC units with Energy Recovery BARD type units in each classroom.
Office areas will be served by a VRF-based system. All areas will receive new lighting and ceilings.
Walls will be removed in old kitchen areas to create a large open space, with the addition of a restroom and scrub area in the lower level.
Door closers will be installed on all corridor doors.

2. Heavy Equipment Building: Replacement of an existing multizone rooftop unit serving classrooms and miscellaneous areas with a new VAV rooftop unit and VAV boxes.
A larger garage workshop space will receive a new rooftop unit, and existing garage doors will be replaced with insulated ones.
Existing Federal Pacific electrical panels will also be replaced.

3. Challenger Center: Replacement of an evaporative cooler and related controls.

4. First Federal Building: Upgrade controls in three large rooms.

Period of Performance
The solicitation was issued on September 12, 2024, with bids closing on September 19, 2024.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various locations within Hazard Community & Technical College in Hazard, Kentucky.
