Sharon Springs Repaving

Background
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is seeking competitive bids for the repaving of the Sharon Springs Subarea parking lot located at 528 N Clark St, Sharon Springs, KS 67758.
The goal of this project is to enhance the infrastructure and ensure compliance with the latest specifications set forth by KDOT.
This project is part of KDOT's mission to maintain and improve transportation facilities across the state.

Work Details
The project consists of a Mill and Overlay operation divided into three main components: 3-inch paving, 2-inch paving with a 1-inch transition milling, and 4-inch paving with 4-inch milling.
Specific tasks include:
1. Mill and inlay 4 inches of existing asphalt pavement over an estimated surface area of 56,513 square feet.
2. Place two lifts of 2 inches on top of the milled surface.
3. Transition milling around all concrete edges by milling 1 inch and paving 2 inches for an estimated area of 55,732 square feet.
4. Pave an additional 3 inches of HMA on an existing surface for a surface area of 7,766 square feet.
5. Use commercial-grade asphalt according to KDOT's 2015 Standard Specifications.
6. Retain millings to be hauled by the contractor to a designated site approximately one mile north from the KDOT yard on highway K-27.
7. Work must be completed before November 15, 2026, with overlay operations commencing within two days after milling.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence after the mandatory prebid meeting on April 17, 2025, with completion required before November 15, 2026.

The contract will be performed at the Sharon Springs Subarea office located at 528 N Clark St, Sharon Springs, KS 67758.
