EMERGENCY EXTENSION: D1 Auto Parts

Background
This is a notification of an Emergency Extension for auto repair parts. The emergency contract is being extended for the purchase of auto repair parts by the Department of Transportation (DOT) - Transportation Division: District 1 in Springfield, IL. The original emergency term started on Dec 31, 2023, and was scheduled to end on Mar 29, 2024. The expected extension will start on Mar 30, 2024, and end on Jun 30, 2024.
The extension justification is to allow IDOT District 1 to continue purchasing auto repair parts due to the aging fleet and difficulty in replenishing replacement equipment over the past three fiscal years.

Work Details
The scope of work for the initial emergency contract is to provide automotive repair parts for IDOT to repair equipment timely and continue roadway operations. The extension changes the scope of work as it allows IDOT District 1 to continue purchasing auto repair parts.
The emergency contract does not correct or eliminate the emergency condition as it is a continuing need until a long-term contract can be put in place. The need cannot be met through a competitive procurement process as a competitive procurement has been published on 3/7/2024.
A competitive procurement is in process to replace this emergency contract, with the status being published.

The period of performance for the original emergency contract started on Dec 31, 2023, and was scheduled to end on Mar 29, 2024. The expected extension will start on Mar 30, 2024, and end on Jun 30, 2024.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at IDOT District 1's address: 2300 S. Dirkesn Parkway, Springfield, IL.
