Background
The City of Rock Island, Illinois, is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to design, supply, and install a new front entrance door for City Hall located at 1528 3rd Avenue, Rock Island, IL 61201. The goal of this project is to replace the existing front door with a new one that meets current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility standards while maintaining aesthetic continuity with the existing door's design and the building’s architectural theme.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Design and Specifications: Provide a detailed design proposal for a new front entrance door that matches the theme of the existing door (materials, color, style). Ensure compliance with ADA standards including minimum clear width of 32 inches when open, threshold height not exceeding ½ inch, and hardware operable with one hand without tight grasping or twisting. Submit design mockups for City approval prior to fabrication.

2. Materials: Use durable, weather-resistant materials suitable for an exterior entrance in the Midwest climate (e.g., steel, aluminum, fiberglass).

3. Removal and Installation: Safely remove and dispose of the existing front door; install the new door ensuring proper alignment and sealing while minimizing disruption to City Hall operations.

4. Permits and Compliance: Obtain necessary permits required by the City of Rock Island and ensure compliance with local building codes and ADA regulations.

5. Warranty and Maintenance: Provide a minimum 2-year warranty on materials and workmanship.

Period of Performance
Project completion is expected within 180 days of contract award.
