New Fence Installation, Yellow River State Forest, Allamakee County

Background
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is issuing a contract for the construction of a new fence at Yellow River State Forest, located in Allamakee County. The project aims to enhance boundary delineation and security within the forest area, aligning with the agency's mission to manage and protect natural resources.

Work Details
The contractor will construct approximately 2,640 linear feet of fence using 4 strands of 12 ½ gauge wire with 4-point barbs, spaced approximately 12 inches apart.

The fence will be supported by 6-foot steel posts placed at intervals of 8-10 feet. For corners and ends, either 8-inch pressure-treated wood or 2-inch galvanized pipe will be used. If corner or end posts cannot be driven to a depth of 3 ½ feet, they must be installed with a concrete base.

The contractor is responsible for all materials, equipment, labor, insurance, and services necessary to complete the project in accordance with applicable codes and specifications.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence within a reasonable period after the preconstruction conference and must be completed by June 15, 2025.

The contract will be performed at Yellow River State Forest, specifically in the Paint Creek Unit located in Allamakee County, Iowa.
