The State of Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking professional design services for renovations to spaces within the 6200 Park Ave. building in Des Moines, IA. Renovations include architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, technology, structural, and minor civil modifications.
Work Details
The design services shall include all design disciplines necessary to complete the scope of work, such as complete design for renovations including all design disciplines needed, renovations to the existing warehouse space, demolition and renovation to the existing kitchen and servery space, modifications to existing space to accommodate new restrooms and kitchenette spaces, new reception with bullet-resistant construction, modifications to employee entrance for sidewalk ADA compliance and signage, modifications to exterior precast to accommodate new curtain wall glazing, fire protection and life safety systems design adhering to relevant codes and standards, coordination with owner-provided furniture vendor including coordination in design documents and incorporation of vendor-provided furniture layout coordination with requirement electrical, voice, and data.
Additionally, the designer shall provide pathways in the design and construction.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence upon execution of a contract with a tentative design kick-off meeting scheduled for the week of May 20, 2024. The 100% Design Development Documents and Cost Opinion are expected by June 13, 2024. The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of February 2024.
Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the 6200 Park Ave. building in Des Moines, IA.
