Tree Maintenance Services on Hawaii (I and II) and Kauai (HIDOE)

Background
The Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) is seeking proposals to provide tree maintenance services for various schools and offices located on the Islands of Hawaii (Districts I and II) and Kauai.
The goal of this contract is to ensure the health and safety of trees in educational environments, minimizing risks to students and staff while maintaining the functionality of the facilities.

Work Details
The contractor will perform a range of arboricultural services including but not limited to:
1. Timely tree pruning and removal to address hazardous conditions.
2. Maintenance of tree compatibility with facility use, ensuring proper clearances while protecting tree health.
3. Conducting inspections and reporting significant safety concerns.
4. Using professional arboricultural practices based on anticipated physiological responses of trees.
5. Direct supervision by a qualified Arborist during all operations.

The contractor is responsible for all labor, equipment, tools, permits, and materials necessary for the execution of these services across designated districts, which include:
- Group A: Hawaii District (Laupahoehoe – Waiakea Complex; Naalehu-Keaau Complex)
- Group B: Kauai District (East Complex Areas; West Complex Areas; Central Complex Areas)

Specific tasks include crown cleaning, crown reduction, crown raising, directional pruning, and other maintenance as needed to ensure safety and compliance with ANSI standards.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution by the Superintendent of HIDOE and will end on May 15, 2026.
The contract may be extended for up to five additional twelve-month periods upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various schools and offices across the Islands of Hawaii (Districts I and II) and Kauai.
