Background
The Thurston Fire Training Center Tower Improvements project is initiated by the Department of Design and Construction of the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii. The project aims to enhance the training facilities for fire services, ensuring that they meet modern standards and requirements. The estimated cost for this project is $2,400,000.00.

Work Details
The scope of work includes various construction activities as outlined in the detailed specifications. Key components include:

- Concrete work including repairs and new installations (Sections 03310 and 03700).
- Structural steel installation (Section 05120).
- Rough carpentry using preservative treated lumber (Sections 06100 and 06311).
- Installation of fluid applied roofing (Section 07560).
- Installation of hollow metal doors and frames (Section 08110) along with finish hardware (Section 08710).
- Painting services (Section 09901) and installation of solid plastic toilet partitions (Section 10161) along with toilet accessories (Section 10800).
- Compliance with safety regulations including lead-containing paint control measures (Section 13282) and testing/air monitoring (Section 13288).
- Mechanical general requirements including plumbing work (Sections 15000 and 15400) as well as electrical requirements (Sections 16000 and 16050).

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to commence in January 2025, with completion anticipated by April 30, 2026.
