Description

This solicitation is being conducted by the Georgia Department of Transportation under its authority to procure services ancillary to the construction and maintenance of a public road (as defined in O.C.G.A 32-1-3 (24) as provided for in O.C.G.A 32-2-61 (c) and (d) (1) (D). Only contractors deemed as Qualified Contractors to provide Vegetation Removal Services during the RFQC process (48400-140-0000033094) are eligible to participate in this Invitation to Bid (ITB) / Request for Quote (RFQ). Through this ITB/RFQ the Georgia Department of Transportation (hereinafter, the State Entity, Department, Agency, or GDOT) is seeking bids from the qualified firms who have been awarded a contract under Request for Qualified Contractors (RFQC) #48400-140-0000033094. All respondents to this ITB/RFQ are subject to same terms and conditions of the RFQC 48400-140-0000033094, subsequent awarded contract, and the ITB/RFQ Form, and are cautioned to completely review the entire ITB/RFQ and follow instructions carefully. The Department reserves the right to modify existing provisions or include additional provisions, which are not currently addressed herein and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive technicalities and informalities at its discretion.
Background
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is conducting this solicitation under its authority to procure services related to the construction and maintenance of public roads. The goal of this contract is to secure qualified contractors for Vegetation Removal Services specifically for District 6. Only contractors who have been pre-qualified through the Request for Qualified Contractors (RFQC) process are eligible to participate in this Invitation to Bid (ITB).

Work Details
The contractor will provide Vegetation Removal Services which include:

1. Canopy Clearing of approximately 5.04 Shoulder Miles along SR 402 (I-20) WB in Carroll County.
2. Permanent Grassing over approximately 16.50 acres.

The work involves prep work, removal, installation, and cleanup, ensuring compliance with GDOT specifications. The contractor must supply all labor, materials, tools, equipment, means of transportation, traffic control, and incidentals necessary for the execution of the work. Specific tasks include random clearing of vegetation and debris removal from the right-of-way (R/W), side trimming of tree branches encroaching on travel ways, and herbicide applications for invasive species control.

Period of Performance
Work must begin no later than 30 days after the Prework Meeting and must be completed no later than 150 days after the Prework Meeting.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed in Carroll County along SR 402 (I-20) WB.
