Background
Dawson County is located in northeast Georgia and covers 214 square miles. The county has a population of approximately 33,748 residents, with about 20% being seniors aged 65 and over. The Dawson County Government is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide congregate and home-delivered meals for senior residents as part of their nutrition services program. This initiative aligns with the goals of the Older Americans Act and aims to ensure that seniors receive nutritious meals that meet dietary guidelines.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for preparing and delivering quality meals that comply with the Dietary Guidelines for the Older Americans Act and Georgia Division of Aging standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Supply meals that meet federal, state, and local health ordinances.
- Perform nutritional analysis of menus for compliance.
- Deliver meals in bulk containers for congregate settings or individually packaged for home delivery.
- Ensure timely delivery between 8:30 AM and 9:45 AM, Monday through Friday, for a minimum of 250 days per year.
- Provide training on meal preparation and serving upon request.
- Develop contingency plans addressing potential issues like power outages or staff shortages.
- Participate in menu planning activities and provide quarterly menu samples.
Each meal must contain at least one-third of the daily recommended dietary allowance for adults aged 51 and over, including specific quantities of protein, vegetables, fruits, grains, dairy, and optional beverages.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2025, and conclude on June 30, 2026. There is an option to renew the contract for four additional one-year periods.
