RFP #25-061 DOCO Jail Food Service

Background
Dougherty County is seeking proposals for food management services at the Dougherty County Jail. The goal of this contract is to provide nutritious meals to inmates while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The contract will be awarded based on the proposer’s qualifications, experience, operational work plan, and cost-effectiveness.

Work Details
The selected contractor will provide all consumable supplies necessary for the operation of food services at the jail, including food products and meal trays. Meals must be prepared in accordance with dietary guidelines established by the American Correctional Association (ACA) and the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare (NCCHC). They must be nutritious, wholesome, and visually appealing.

The contractor will also be responsible for maintaining kitchen cleanliness, managing inventory of kitchen utensils, and ensuring that all staff undergo health screenings. Additionally, the contractor must submit monthly invoices for meals served and maintain records of meal counts for auditing purposes. The service includes providing three full meals daily: breakfast at 6:00 AM, lunch at 11:00 AM, and dinner at 6:00 PM.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to be a one-year firm price contract with four options to renew for additional one-year terms. Renewals will automatically continue unless written notice of termination is provided 60 days prior to the renewal date.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Dougherty County Jail located at 1302 Evelyn Avenue, Albany, GA 31705.
