RFP 25-0049-5 Inmate Healthcare Services

Background
Chatham County is seeking proposals from qualified companies to provide a comprehensive on-site Medical Health/Dental/Mental Health Services Program for the Inmates of the Chatham County Detention Center located at 1050 Carl Griffin Drive, Savannah, GA 31405. The goal of this contract is to ensure that inmates receive necessary medical and mental health services while in custody.

The Chatham County Purchasing Department will assist with proposal reviews and recommendations for award, with the Board of County Commissioners having the sole authority to award the contract.

Work Details
The selected contractor will be responsible for providing a full range of medical, dental, and mental health services to inmates at the detention center. This includes conducting health assessments, managing chronic conditions, providing emergency care, and implementing mental health interventions. The contractor must also ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.

Specific requirements include:
- Methodology for mental health assessments within the facility.
- Experience in large facilities and accreditation experience.
- A detailed scope of services addressing general requirements outlined in Attachment A.
- Implementation of systems to track sick calls and manage inmate care effectively.
- Provision of specialty services on-site as needed.

Period of Performance
The contract will be for an initial term of one year with options to renew for four additional one-year terms upon mutual agreement between Chatham County and the contractor.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Chatham County Detention Center located at 1050 Carl Griffin Drive, Savannah, GA 31405.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must demonstrate prior experience in providing inmate healthcare services, particularly in facilities housing over 1500 inmates. They must also provide evidence of financial stability and capability to meet contractual obligations. Additionally, proposers are encouraged to include minority and women-owned business participation in their proposals.

All bidders must comply with local licensing requirements and provide proof of insurance as specified in the RFP.
