Interior and Exterior Painting Services for Jackson High School

Background
The Butts County School System, located at 181 North Mulberry Street, Jackson, GA, serves approximately 3,500 students across five schools. The System is seeking proposals for a contractor to provide necessary cleaning, preparation, and painting services at Jackson High School.
The goal of this contract is to ensure that the interior and exterior of the school are properly painted and maintained to enhance the learning environment.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing management, supervision, manpower, and equipment necessary for cleaning, preparation, and painting services at Jackson High School. Specific tasks include:
- Examination of present surfaces to ensure paint adherence and proper finish.
- Moving furniture away from walls before painting and returning it afterward.
- Interior painting of approximately 177,331 sq ft including all specified areas in attached drawings.
- Repainting all interior and exterior metal doors, door frames, and window frames on both sides.
- All painting must be done using brushes and rollers with two coats; no spray painting is allowed.
- Caulking around openings where caulk is missing or needs replacement.
- Removal of loose window caulking as required.
- Painting all hollow metal handrails and guardrails.
- Painting all previously painted concrete block and gypsum board walls, EFIS, bulkheads, and ceilings with specified colors from Sherwin Williams.
Work NOT INCLUDED in this contract includes aluminum gravel stops, gutters, downspouts, vinyl wall coverings, wood cabinets in media centers and offices, chalkboards/whiteboards/smartboards among others.

Period of Performance
The work is scheduled to begin on May 28, 2025, and must be completed before July 12, 2025.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Jackson High School located at 717 S. Harkness St., Jackson, GA.
