Description

The Classic Center Authority ( CCA ), an Authority of the State of Georgia, in cooperation with Athens-Clarke County, and on behalf of the Athens-Clarke County Center for Racial Justice is soliciting statements of qualifications from firms specializing in museum exhibition design and exhibition creation services to design and create space, exhibits, and displays in downtown Athens, Georgia. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeks to identify potential providers of the above-mentioned services. Some firms that respond to this RFQ and are determined to be responsible and responsive, may be deemed especially qualified through an evaluation process described herein to perform services. All respondents to this RFQ are subject to instructions communicated in this document and are cautioned to completely review the entire RFQ and follow instructions carefully. CCA retains the right to reject any or all statements of qualifications or subsequent submittals and/or proposals, and to waive technicalities, irregularities, and informalities, and retains the right to cancel the procurement at any time.
Background
The Classic Center Authority (CCA), an Authority of the State of Georgia, in cooperation with Athens-Clarke County, and on behalf of the Athens-Clarke County Center for Racial Justice and Black Futures (Center) Board of Directors, is soliciting statements of qualifications from firms specializing in museum exhibition design and exhibition creation services to design and create space, exhibits, and displays for the Center in a specific area adjacent to a new public arena currently being constructed in downtown Athens, Georgia.

Work Details
The purpose of this procurement is to engage a highly-qualified museum services firm to design and create space, exhibits, and displays which are to be developed, fabricated, and constructed in a manner compliant with program requirements for effective presentation and thematically appropriate for the envisioned Center. The project goals include illuminating the rich and diverse histories of African Americans in Athens, Georgia and surrounding communities, inspiring a steadfast commitment to justice through dedicated truth-telling, and inspiring youth to become architects of a fair and inclusive future.
The envisioned project will consist of approximately 3500 to 4000 Sq. Ft. The RFQ process resources include a Project Procurement Director responsible for facilitating the procurement process in close coordination with the CCA, as well as an Evaluation Committee composed of qualified representatives or stakeholders of the CCA and Center Board.

Period of Performance
The schedule includes various deadlines such as submission of written questions and requests for clarification by April 17th, 2024; submission of Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) by May 3rd, 2024; completion of SOQ evaluation; issuance of Finalist Notification; and potential interviews of finalist firms. The CCA reserves the right to adjust the schedule as necessary.

Place of Performance
The project will be located in Athens, Georgia on the Classic Center Campus near the University of Georgia in eastern downtown Athens.
