Background
The Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) is seeking qualified firms to provide design, fabrication, and installation services for a pedestrian-oriented wayfinding signage system in Downtown Atlanta. This initiative aims to modernize the existing wayfinding system, which is nearly 20 years old, and enhance navigation for pedestrians in the area. The project will involve collaboration with the City of Atlanta to improve accessibility and user experience in downtown pedestrian routes.

Work Details
The selected contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Final Design: Verify sign locations in the field, develop sign messaging schedules, design on-sign maps, create preliminary cost estimates, and conduct value engineering.

2. Pre-construction: Conduct surveys, coordinate subsurface utilities, perform structural engineering, provide samples for review, and develop production drawings.

3. Permitting & Reviews: Obtain design approval from the City of Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT), approval of production drawings, right-of-way closure permits, and ADID review of final designs.

4. Sign Fabrication: Fabricate signs according to approved designs.

5. Construction: Demolish existing signage, apply vinyl elements, install signage on existing poles and new footings, and provide as-built documentation. Attendance at monthly meetings to discuss progress is also required.

Period of Performance
The contract will remain effective until the successful completion of the construction phase of the project, with all signs required to be installed by April 30, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed along designated pedestrian routes within the City of Atlanta's right-of-way.

Bidder Requirements
Respondents must be prequalified in Area Class 636 (Highway Signs) by GDOT and demonstrate experience in environmental graphic design, sign fabrication, permitting within the City of Atlanta, installation, and demolition. Additionally, bidders must comply with the City’s Equal Business Opportunity (EBO) goals which include a minimum participation of 25% Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and 10% Female Business Enterprises (FBE).
