DBHDD-038J Building Renovation at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital Atlanta

Background
The Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC), acting as the Owner on behalf of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking firms to provide Design Professional Services for the renovation of the West Central Georgia Regional Hospital.

This facility has been operational since 1974, providing essential behavioral healthcare services to a wide region. The hospital serves 71 counties, offering inpatient treatment for Adult Mental Health and Forensic care, with a total capacity of 194 beds. GSFIC aims to enhance the hospital's facilities to better serve its patients and meet current healthcare standards.

Work Details
The selected design team will collaborate with DBHDD and GSFIC to finalize the renovation scope for some or all buildings on the campus. The scope includes comprehensive upgrades such as:
- Interior and exterior renovations to improve aesthetics and functionality
- Painting of walls, ceilings, and trim
- Replacement of flooring with durable materials
- Replacement of doors for improved accessibility and security
- Upgrading or installing new lighting fixtures
- Ceiling repairs and enhancements
- Installation of mirrors for lighting improvement
- Custom casework for cabinetry and storage solutions
- Soffit repairs
- Installation of clear signage for wayfinding
- Installation of isolation valves for plumbing efficiency.

All work must comply with current building codes and The Joint Commission standards.

Period of Performance
The Design Professional’s services are anticipated to commence in the first quarter of 2025.
