BL056-25, Concrete Resurfacing at Mountain Park Aquatic Center

Background
Gwinnett County is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Concrete Resurfacing at Mountain Park Aquatic Center, managed by the Department of Parks and Recreation. The project aims to enhance the facility's safety and aesthetics by resurfacing various concrete areas.

Work Details
The successful contractor shall furnish all labor and materials required to resurface the concrete for the indoor pool decks, restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairs, and landing at Mountain Park Aquatic Center. Specific tasks include:

1) Resurfacing with Sundek Classic Texture with 80-grit aluminum oxide or an approved alternative;
2) Grinding down concrete around floor drains for positive slope and resetting drains;
3) Removing existing coping joints around indoor pools and expansion joints, replacing them using NP1 Sikaflex or approved alternatives.

The project location is Mountain Park Aquatic Center, 1063 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain, GA 30087.

Period of Performance
All work must be completed no later than September 6th, 2025. Work will not be able to begin until September 2nd, 2025.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must have verifiable experience within the last five years performing similar work (concrete resurfacing for pool areas). They must comply with state and local codes and regulations and maintain all appropriate licensing. A minimum of three references demonstrating successful performance on similar projects is required. All technicians must be OSHA 10 Certified.
