Structural Engineering Continuing Services

Background
The City of Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking qualified, experienced, and licensed firm(s) to provide Structural Engineering Services. The goal of this contract is to plan, develop, implement, and manage a city-wide miscellaneous structural continuing service that benefits the City operationally, economically, and environmentally. This includes services for bridges, seawalls, building construction, engineering inspections (CEI), grant applications, design oversight, and staff augmentation.

Work Details
The consultant will provide structural engineering services for various structures owned by the City of Fort Lauderdale including seawalls, bulkheads, bridges, boat ramps, buildings, and water/wastewater plant structures. Services include:

1. Structural inspection and condition assessment;
2. Evaluation of structural integrity;
3. Development of master plans with repair and replacement recommendations;
4. Design of new structures and rehabilitation of existing ones using advanced materials;
5. Preparation of construction documents;
6. Permitting and bidding support;
7. Cost estimation;
8. Construction administration (CEI);
9. Grant application assistance;
10. Staff augmentation as needed.

Period of Performance
The initial contract term will commence upon award by the City and will last for two years with the possibility of three additional one-year extensions.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the geographic boundaries of the City of Fort Lauderdale.

Bidder Requirements
Firms must have been in business for at least five years in Structural Engineering Services and must be licensed in Florida. They should demonstrate relevant experience in similar projects and have no record of judgments or conflicts of interest with the City.
