Road Verge Mowing at Aucilla Wildlife Management Area (WMA)

Background
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is responsible for managing fish and wildlife resources for their long-term well-being and the benefit of people. The agency administers various programs including habitat conservation, fisheries management, and wildlife research.

This contract aims to obtain competitive pricing for boom mowing of road verges at the Aucilla Wildlife Management Area (WMA), covering approximately 26.4 miles of public use roads in Jefferson County, Florida.

Work Details
The contractor will perform boom mowing services along the road verges at Aucilla WMA. Specific tasks include:
1. Mowing vegetation up to 15 feet high and extending up to 20 feet from the road surface using a tractor or excavator with a boom mower attachment that has a minimum of 100 horsepower, a boom reach of at least 24 feet, and a mowing head width of at least 50 inches capable of cutting woody stems up to 4 inches in diameter.
2. All trees and brush along road verges less than or equal to 4 inches in diameter must be mulched to ground level.
3. Limbs within road corridors must be cut back to allow large vehicles to pass safely.
4. The contractor is responsible for keeping all roads clear of debris resulting from the work, including removing all trash associated with operations.
5. The project must be completed by June 13, 2025, with all necessary equipment, materials, labor, and supervision provided by the contractor.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year upon issuance of the Purchase Order, with all work required to be completed by June 13, 2025.
