Background
The City of West Haven is issuing RFP# 2025-21 for the construction of a New Cat Room Addition to the existing West Haven Animal Shelter.
This project aims to enhance the quality of life for feline residents by providing a comfortable, stimulating, and safe environment.

Work Details
The project includes the design and construction of a New Cat Room Addition, encompassing all trades for building and sitework.
Contractors must provide line-item quotes for each trade involved.
The building construction scope includes:
- Structural framework
- HVAC system installation
- Electrical and lighting installations (energy-efficient, cat-friendly)
- Plumbing installations for wash stations
- Durable interior finishes.
The sitework scope includes:
- Site preparation
- Grading
- Drainage
- Landscaping with pet-safe plantings
- Construction of outdoor enclosures ('catios')
- Installation of ADA-compliant walkways and parking.
