082-0317 Bridge 00639R Hydrographic Survey and Submarine Cable Mapping Services

Background
The contract is issued by the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation for the performance of hydrographic survey and submarine cable mapping services.
The goal is to support the proposed State Project No. 82-317, Bridge No. 00639R, located in Middletown and Portland, Connecticut, specifically over the Connecticut River for Clough Harbour & Associates, LLP (CHA).

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following services:
1. Bathymetric Survey - Conduct a comprehensive bathymetric survey to assess underwater topography.
2. Side-Scan Sonar Survey - Utilize side-scan sonar technology to map the seafloor and locate submarine cables.
3. Magnetic Field Mapping - Execute magnetic field mapping to identify anomalies that may indicate the presence of cables or other structures.
4. Reflection Seismology Survey - Implement reflection seismology techniques to gather data on subsurface conditions.
5. Survey File and Report Preparation - Prepare detailed files and reports summarizing survey findings.
6. Mobilization and Demobilization - Manage mobilization and demobilization processes for water-based operations.
7. Standby Time - Provide standby time at an hourly rate due to unexpected restrictions imposed by the Department or other reasons after work has commenced.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from July 30, 2024, to August 21, 2024.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed in Middletown and Portland, Connecticut, specifically over the Connecticut River.
