Grease Trap Cleaning & Inspection Services - RFP

Background
The Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Grease Trap Inspection & Cleaning Services at all CDOC facilities statewide. The purpose of this contract is to ensure the proper maintenance and cleaning of grease interceptors/traps, which are essential for the operation of food services within correctional facilities. The CDOC aims to engage qualified contractors to perform these services in compliance with applicable regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the periodic removal and disposal of waste fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from the interceptors/traps at CDOC facilities. Specific tasks include:

1. Cleaning grease interceptors/traps by pumping and removing grease, sludge, and refuse;
2. Cleaning baffle plates and interior walls;
3. Reporting on utilization capacity and general condition of interceptor vessels;
4. Transporting and disposing of waste in accordance with governmental laws;
5. Providing a monthly cleaning schedule;
6. Completing required inspection reports and manifests for each service;
7. Ensuring that all work complies with safety regulations including OSHA standards for confined space entry.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract is anticipated to be one year, with the possibility of extending for up to four additional one-year periods, totaling a maximum duration of five years.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various correctional facilities throughout the State of Colorado.
