Background
The Colorado Department of Corrections, through its Facility Management Services, is issuing this solicitation for the Security Perimeter Improvements at the Sterling Correctional Facility.
The project aims to enhance security measures by replacing outdated systems with modern technology.
The estimated construction cost for this project is $800,000.

Work Details
The contractor will provide, install, test, and commission a new fiber optic fence mounted perimeter detection system. This includes:
- Removal of the existing copper-based fence mounted detection system, head-end equipment, and monitoring station.
- Installation of approximately 7200 feet of fiber optic cable.
- Provision of a processor, head-end equipment, network switches, and two monitoring stations (one at Master Control and one at the Tower).
- Inclusion of one zone of a dual height microwave detection system at the vehicle sallyport.
- All necessary conduit, cabling, terminations, testing, and training as specified in Construction Drawings ES-0 to ES-6 and Construction Specifications 287000 to 287090.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed and will include a timeline for Substantial Completion and Final Acceptance as specified in the bid form.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Sterling Correctional Facility located at 12101 CO-61, Sterling, CO 80751.
