C23CA1, Castlewood Canyon Asphalt Overlay

Background
The Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife is issuing a solicitation for the Castlewood Canyon State Park - 2024 Asphalt Overlay project. The goal of this contract is to enhance the infrastructure of Castlewood Canyon State Park by milling existing pavement and repaving various roadways and parking lots to improve accessibility and safety for visitors.

This project aligns with the agency's mission to maintain and enhance Colorado's state parks.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Mobilization of personnel, equipment, and supplies at the project site.
2. Milling existing asphalt pavement to a depth of 2 inches and repaving with new asphalt at specified locations including:
- Entrance Road (11,300 SY)
- Visitor Center Road (800 SY)
- VC Parking Lot (1,000 SY)
- VC Staff Parking Lot (1,000 SY)
- VC Frontage Road (1,500 SY)
- Canyon View Parking Lot (2,500 SY)
- Canyon Point Road (2,000 SY)
- North Road (2,600 SY)
- South Road (3,700 SY).
3. Installation of 12 ADA parking spaces including surface striping and signage.
4. Pavement markings including yellow and white striping along main roads.
5. Full depth asphalt patching as directed.
6. Asphalt crack sealing as identified in the field.
7. Concrete patching and joint sealing as required.
8. Removal and replacement of vehicle sensor for gate access.
9. Provision of traffic control during construction activities.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to be completed within 30 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed, which is tentatively scheduled for September 13, 2024.

Castlewood Canyon State Park, located at 2989 CO Hwy 83, Franktown, CO 80116, Douglas County.
