AHEC-25922-Q - Tivoli Reimagined Program Plan

Background
The Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) is seeking qualifications from architectural design firms to develop a Program Plan for the modernization of the Tivoli Student Union located on the Auraria Campus in Denver, Colorado.

The Tivoli Student Union serves as a central hub for student activities and services for three institutions: Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and University of Colorado Denver. The building, originally constructed in 1870 and renovated multiple times, currently houses various retail and dining options, event spaces, and student services.

A feasibility study conducted in 2021 serves as a foundation for this project, which aims to enhance the facility's infrastructure and service offerings to meet the evolving needs of its diverse student body.

Work Details
The selected architectural firm will be responsible for creating a comprehensive Program Plan that includes:
1. Updating and modernizing the Tivoli Student Union while adhering to the requirements set forth by the Office of State Architect and Colorado Department of Higher Education.
2. Conducting a development feasibility analysis as outlined in Appendix C.
3. Engaging with the Auraria Campus Community to ensure that the design meets current and future needs.
4. Addressing critical infrastructure improvements while respecting the historic nature of the building.
5. Enhancing student collaboration spaces and updating retail/restaurant offerings to increase engagement during business hours and after hours.
6. Identifying innovative funding opportunities to support project implementation.

Period of Performance
The anticipated timeline for the Program Plan process is from February 2025 to January 2026, with completion expected by January 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at the Auraria Campus located in Denver, Colorado.
