Background
The California Department of Education (CDE) is soliciting bids for written foreign language translation services for the California School for the Deaf, Riverside. The goal of this contract is to ensure that non-English speaking students and their parents or guardians can understand important information communicated by the school.

This service is in accordance with federal and state regulations that require accessibility in communication.

Work Details
The contractor will provide written translation services on an as-needed basis for various documents including IEP reports, assessment reports, psych reports, parent correspondence, behavioral support plans, and school handouts.

The languages required for translation include Spanish (Latin American), Mixteco, Tagalog, Arabic, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Cambodian/Khmer, Farsi, and Russian. The contractor must ensure that all translations maintain the meaning and intent of the original text and must be performed by qualified translators with relevant experience or certifications.

Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for proofreading translations to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Period of Performance
The contract period is anticipated to begin on August 1, 2025, contingent upon approval by the Department of General Services (DGS). The initial contract will run until July 31, 2026, with options to renew for two additional one-year periods until July 31, 2028.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the California School for the Deaf located at 3044 Horace Street, Riverside, CA 92506.
