Trash Pick Up and Disposal Services in Santa Barbara County

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) # 05A2870 for Trash Pick Up and Disposal Services in Santa Barbara County. The goal of this contract is to provide on-call, as-needed trash collection, hauling, and disposal services to support Caltrans operations. Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all labor, trash bins, equipment, travel, and incidentals necessary to provide trash collection services. Specific requirements include:

1. Provide one (1) 4 cubic yard bin for general trash and debris at the New Cuyama Maintenance Station (MS).

2. Trash pick-ups will occur on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding designated State legal holidays.

3. The contractor must ensure that all containers have retractable covers and are in good condition without holes.

4. Additional pick-ups may be requested within three working days of notification by Caltrans Contract Manager, with responsibility for cleaning up any overflow at no additional cost if not picked up in time.

5. All travel costs must be included in the bid proposal; no additional compensation will be provided for travel time.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on June 1, 2025, or upon approval by Caltrans, and will expire on May 31, 2028.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the New Cuyama Maintenance Station located at 6470 Highway 166, New Cuyama, CA 93254.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid Motor Carrier Permit issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) at the time of bid submission and throughout the duration of the agreement. Additionally, bidders are encouraged to participate in small business programs; while Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation is not required, it is encouraged.
