Background
The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) is one of the leading public housing authorities in the nation and the largest provider of affordable housing in Los Angeles. Established in 1938, HACLA serves over 83,000 households through various programs, including permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals.

This Invitation for Bids (IFB) seeks qualified contractors to undertake the Argent Apartments ADA Conversion, Restoration, and Office Buildout project, which aims to enhance accessibility and functionality within the building.

Work Details
The project involves the design-build restoration of a 36-unit, five-story apartment building with subterranean parking located at 7639 Van Nuys Blvd., Van Nuys, California. The scope includes:
1. Modifications to four ADA mobility compliant units with ADA-compliant appliances, fixtures, and finishes.
2. Creation of an ADA compliant path from common areas to the lobby.
3. Installation of audio/visual features in four units.
4. Buildout of a functioning property management office in the main lobby.
5. The contractor must provide a 'turn-key' finished product that meets all applicable code requirements and reflects the original finish and details of the building.

Period of Performance
The projected start date for this project is within five days following the successful bidder's contract execution and issuance of a purchase order. The total time for completion is set at 120 days.
