The County of Santa Clara (County) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors who can furnish and deliver Steel, Rebar, Aluminum, and Other Metal Products to the County. The products will be used Countywide. The Contractor is responsible for all the products and related services that are necessary to furnish the Steel, Rebar, Aluminum, and Other Metal Products to meet the requirements as stated in the RFP. Only one (1) proposal (submittal) will be accepted from each Proposer. The County reserves the right to accept a proposal in part or in its entirety. Any contract awarded will have an initial term of three (3) years with a County option to renew for an additional two (2) one-year extensions, unless terminated earlier or otherwise amended. The County will hold a virtual pre-proposal conference through Microsoft Teams on the date and time specified in Section III. A of this RFP. A teleconference line will also be provided, but attendance is encouraged through the Teams Application. Attendance in the pre-proposal conference is highly recommended. Background
The County of Santa Clara is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to furnish and deliver Steel, Rebar, Aluminum, and other Metal Products to support various County agencies including the Office of the Sheriff’s Department of Correction, Roads and Airports, and Parks and Recreation.
The County aims to establish a reliable source of supply for these products to meet operational needs and safety standards. The contract will have an initial term of three years with options for two additional one-year extensions.
Work Details
The contractor will provide a wide range of metal products including but not limited to:
1. Steel Products: Round Bars, Pipes, Tubes, Plates, Angles, Channels, Strips, Flat Bars, Wide Flange Beams.
2. Rebar: Graded # Rebar (e.g., Grade #4, Grade #5).
3. Aluminum Products: Aluminum Sheets and Plates.
4. Other Metal Products as required by the County.
The contractor must maintain adequate inventory levels for consistent availability and ensure all products are brand new and free from defects. The contractor is also responsible for replacing defective products at no cost to the County.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon approval in November 2024 and will last for an initial term of three years with options for two additional one-year renewals.
Place of Performance
Products will be delivered to various locations within Santa Clara County including but not limited to the Elmwood Correctional Facility, Main Jail, Office of the Sheriff, Facilities and Fleet locations, Roads and Airports facilities, and Parks and Recreation sites.
