Running Springs/ Big Bear Libraries Snow Removal

Background
The San Bernardino County Project & Facilities Management Department is seeking proposals for snow removal services for the Running Springs and Big Bear Libraries. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe access to these facilities during winter weather conditions, aligning with the County's mission to maintain public safety and accessibility.

Work Details
The contractor will provide snow removal services on an as-needed basis, including:

1. Routine and emergency snow plowing and road maintenance services when snow accumulation reaches 2-3 inches.

2. Clearing walkways and sidewalks around the libraries, applying ice melt or cinders as necessary, with completion required before 8:00 AM.

3. Providing necessary equipment in good condition, along with licensed personnel for operations.

4. Responding to snow removal requests within two hours of accumulation.

5. Maintaining safety standards during operations and reporting any damages caused by their work.

6. Ensuring all workers are paid prevailing wages and complying with CAL-OSHA regulations.

Specific tasks include:
- For Running Springs Library: plowing the parking lot, shoveling snow from stairs, clearing paths to the building, and distributing ice melt in walking areas and the parking lot.
- For Big Bear Library: plowing both front and back parking lots, clearing paths to entrances, and distributing ice melt similarly.

Period of Performance
The contract period will be approximately three years, beginning on or around May 14, 2025, and ending on April 30, 2028.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the following locations:
- Running Springs Library located at 2677 Whispering Pines, Running Springs, CA;
- Big Bear Library located at 41930 Garstin Dr., Big Bear Lake, CA.
