Rfq - Tissue Disruptor / Homogenizer Instrument

Background
The County of San Diego, through its Department of Environmental Health and Quality, is seeking a vendor to provide a Tissue Disruptor/Homogenizer Instrument. This instrument is essential for processing and testing vector samples collected by the Vector Control Program (VCP), which monitors public health risks associated with vector-borne diseases. The goal is to enhance laboratory efficiency and ensure high-quality results without the need for additional optimization or verification work.

Work Details
The contractor will provide one Tissue Disruptor/Homogenizer Instrument along with an extended warranty. The instrument must meet the following specifications:

- It should be a closed system capable of homogenizing cells from mosquitoes, ticks, and vertebrate organs.
- It must process 1-24 samples simultaneously.
- Dimensions should not exceed 24-inch x 24-inch x 24-inch.
- It should allow mechanical homogenization with beads ranging from 0.1 mm to 5 mm.
- The instrument must reach speeds of 8 m/s or 30 Hz.
- It should have a programmable runtime of at least 10 minutes.
- Compatibility with Eppendorf 2 mL microcentrifuge tubes is required, along with an adaptor for 50 mL tubes.

Additionally, the vendor must include the cost for up to a 5-year extended warranty covering yearly preventative maintenance including parts and labor.

Period of Performance
The equipment must be delivered within 45 days of the award of the contract.
