Pipette Calibration - Statewide

Background
The California Department of Justice (DOJ) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) Number 24-0082-IFB for the Bureau of Forensic Services (BFS).
The purpose of this contract is to provide pipette calibration services statewide, ensuring that forensic laboratories maintain accurate and reliable pipetting equipment essential for their operations.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide service, repair, calibration, and certification for single-channel and multi-channel pipettes located at various BFS laboratories.
The specific services include:
1. Complete internal/external cleaning of instruments;
2. Replacement of Teflon seals;
3. Re-calibration of instruments;
4. Warranty declaration;
5. Affixing a sticker to each pipette with the date of service and next calibration due date;
6. Signature of technician;
7. Quality assurance certificate;
8. On-site service at no additional charge;
9. Toll-free service telephone number;
10. All equipment used in calibrations must be NIST-traceable;
11. Pipettes may be mailed or picked up by the Contractor and returned after service.
The Contractor must also ensure that pipettes can be calibrated down to the 0.2 µL level, as evidenced by their accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

Period of Performance
The term of the resulting agreement is expected to be three years, from September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2027, with options for extension based on performance and funding availability.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various Bureau of Forensic Services locations across California including Ripon, Fresno, Redding, Richmond, Riverside, Sacramento, and Santa Barbara.
