IFB, Railroad Flagging Services, Statewide

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking to engage a contractor to provide on-call railroad flagging services statewide. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe and efficient operations during construction and maintenance activities that may affect railroad operations. The contractor must be an approved vendor of Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR).

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, travel, and incidentals necessary to provide railroad flagging services. Specific services include:
1. Flagging Services for both day and night shifts.
2. Holiday and weekend flagging services.
3. Observer fees for construction oversight.
4. Mobilization and administration fees for observers.
5. Reimbursement for actual costs incurred for railroad permit fees, insurance as required, encroachment permits, and police time related to highway patrol.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon the execution of the agreement and will continue until the completion of all required services or until terminated by Caltrans.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed statewide across California as needed.
