IFB 24-73023-000 Addendum 2 Q & A Statewide Translation and Interpreting Services-In Person

Background
The Department of State Hospitals (DSH) is seeking bids from qualified professionals for Statewide Translation and Interpreting Services. The goal is to provide In-Person interpreting services for all foreign languages, including American Sign Language (ASL), on an as-needed basis. This initiative aims to assist staff and patients in delivering high-quality care while adhering to standards set by Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations, the Joint Commission, and the Department of Justice.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide In-Person interpreting services for five DSH facilities: Atascadero, Coalinga, Metropolitan, Napa, and Patton. Services will be required for all foreign languages and ASL to ensure effective communication in patient care settings. The contractor must ensure that interpreters are proficient in the required languages and possess relevant certifications. Bidders must also review the detailed Scope of Work located in Attachment 15 of the solicitation.

Period of Performance
The anticipated term of the agreement is from May 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027. All performance under the agreement must be completed by the termination date.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at five DSH State Hospitals located in Atascadero, Coalinga, Metropolitan, Napa, and Patton.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide proof of legal right to do business in California, including a valid business license and any DBA documentation. They must have at least five years of experience providing In-Person translation services to state or local government entities. Additionally, bidders must submit three letters of reference from previous clients and certify their compliance with insurance requirements. They also need to demonstrate their ability to provide interpreting services for a wide range of languages as specified in the solicitation.
